First Thanksgiving in Zambia

(From left to right:  Elder Duncan, Elder Slade, Sister G. Elder Salmon, Sister Erickson, Sister Bodily, Elder Brewerton and Elder Ketchum.) (President Erickson, Sister Salmon and Elder Bodily were also there, but are not seen in the picture.)
Thanksgiving in Africa is pretty much like any other day here.  Of course, they have their day of thanks too, but it's not the same as ours.  Anyway, we decided to have a potluck Thanksgiving lunch at the mission home.  All of us are from the US except for Elder Brewerton, who is our resident Canadian.  We had bbq chicken instead of turkey and very delicious rolls, potatoes and gravy, apple crisp, pumpkin and apple pie and several varieties of vegetables.  It was indeed a feast.
We all have so much to be grateful for including family, friends and our faith.  We all feel it a great blessing and opportunity to be serving as full-time missionaries here at this time.  It is a wonderful experience to see how the gospel of Jesus Christ changes people--both converts and members.  We are all changing as we repent each day and try to be more like our Savior, Jesus Christ.
What a wonderful Thanksgiving Day!
