Our Flat and the Mission Home

It was about 9:30 pm by the time we got to our flat.   We were pretty impressed.  It's really quite nice.  We were so tired we thought we would absolutely crash, but we started unpacking our suitcases and didn't stop until about midnight!  It was good to get things in a bit of order.
Our apartment is the bottom floor left unit.

Our backyard is really beautiful.  I had not expected to see so much grass!  There is more grass in our backyard here than what we saw for almost 2 years in Mongolia.
Our water is provided from this tank.  We are glad it is up high because when the power goes off, which it does for at least 8 hours every day, we still have water. Those with cisterns on the ground do not have water when the power goes out.  We are blessed.
We found our first visitor on the curtains after a day at the office.  It's a gecko, which we didn't know were good to have for house pets as they eat mosquitoes.  Alan got him in a bag and turned him loose outside.  Should have kept him inside, we were later told.
I feel like a princess with a canopy over my bed.  However, it is really a mosquito net and is to protect from getting bites at night.  We don't have many mosquitoes right now, but we are told they will get worse in a few months when the rainy season starts.
This is Timothy, our gardener,  He's the one responsible for the green, cut grass and the sculpting of all the bushes.  He's also really good at washing our car.  He does it really good at least once a week and, otherwise, just dusts it or squirts it off almost every day.  He's a great guy--always so happy and friendly.  He's a Christian and he and Alan have talks occasionally about our churches.

OUR MISSION HOME
This building is owned by a retired judge and is really beautiful.  The grounds are well groomed and green.  We are told it will be even more beautiful after this dry season is over and the rains come.

It even has a pool.  We can use it if we want to, but we didn't even bring swim suits!
It's still beautiful!

LaNice with Elders Cahill and Ketchum.  Elder Cahill had been doing the office job for about 6 months and was great to train me on what I'm supposed to do.  His mind and brain are much younger than mine, and I had a hard time keeping up with him.  He worked with me for about 3 weeks and then happily went back to being a proselyting elder.  Elder Ketchum stayed and works with the mission vehicles.
We eat our lunch on the second floor veranda almost every day we are at work.

This is the only picture I have of President and Sister Erickson and it was President's birthday.  Others in the picture are Elders Brewerton and Ketchum, Sisters Falco and Natsala, President and Sister Erickson, and Elders Barrett and Ford.
