Matero Ward Primary

We have been in Primary now for over a year and, while it's hard because the children don't understand English very well, we are making progress. Sister White is a great President and she can relate to the children and they can understand her.  She is gradually taking over more and more, which is really great.  In these pictures we are learning the books of the Book of Mormon and on the right we are singing with signs that tell us to go, stop, sing faster or slower.

I got this idea from Brynnley to make shields out of the CTR crest.  So while we were learning about the armor or God, we made shields. Everyone wanted to show theirs off, so we took a picture.  I hope they remember that the shield is one of faith and that they will always be strong in the faith and true to their testimony of the gospel.
Sister White teaching the children about sin and repentance.  She is getting pretty good at using church materials, pictures, etc.

For the break that is supposed to be between class time and Sharing Time, the children go outside to get a little exercise.  We bought a few toys for the nursery and here the kids are playing a game like keep away with one of the small balls.  There is a swing set with two swings on the church property. The kids love to take turns and count out how many pushes each child gets before it is someone else's turn.  They are the most beautiful children--especially when they smile!

Sister White and the Matero Ward Primary.  This was kind of a small attendance day.  Most days we have around 20 kids attending.  But this also doesn't include the Nursery, just the older kids.
Alan has been working closely with the Nursery.  We now have two Nursery leaders which is great when one or the other of them comes. The teachers are Fides Zimba and Faith Sikaonga.  They are both so good with the kids and the children are so quiet and reverent with them. Hope it stays with them as they get older and come into the big Primary class.  We don't have a room for them, so we have taken over the kitchen.

Aren't these just the most adorable kids you have ever seen!

Fides is so good with them and they absolutely LOVE her!  She plays games and sings songs with them and they are so obedient. She's just 18 years old and is hoping to go on a mission when she turns 19.  She has been a member for about a year.  I hope she makes it on the mission!
