On June 13 we got the letter containing our mission call. We were pretty anxious to open it, but Emilee was not available until later in the afternoon, so we had to wait. Andy and Abbey were in SLC for her sister, Aimee's, wedding reception. They watched us open the call via Facebook at the church waiting for the reception to start. Alison and Brandon were on Facebook in Twin Falls.
We were a little surprised when we were called to the Zambia, Lusaka Mission, which also includes the country of Malawi. The mission was created in 2011 from the Zimbabwe Mission. We enter the MTC on August 10 and will serve as the office couple for 18 months. We are a little anxious about the call, but know that we were called there by the Lord for a purpose. While we will not be associating with members the same as we did as MLS missionaries in Mongolia, we are grateful for the opportunity to serve the missionaries and the mission president as we work together to strengthen the church in Zambia!
Work in the office is not the only thing that will be different. For one thing, the temperatures between Mongolia and Zambia are drastically different.
Zambia Weather
Mongolia Weather (It was really colder than this shows! -38 in Murun!)
Also, Zambia is a Christian country and the official language is English!
